# VoIPstudio API authentication

VoIPstudio API authentication uses an API key or user token sent in the `X-Auth-Token` request header.

OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect are not advertised as public authentication methods unless the official API documentation says otherwise.

Do not include real passwords, user tokens, API keys, or customer credentials in prompts, public issues, or shared examples.

- Authentication: The VoIPstudio MCP server exposes a public HTTP bootstrap endpoint at https://mcp.voipstudio.workers.dev/mcp, which advertises the authenticated SSE session endpoint /sse. The SSE endpoint is protected using Bearer authentication and publishes OAuth Protected Resource Metadata at https://mcp.voipstudio.workers.dev/.well-known/oauth-protected-resource/sse.

### MCP tools

get_recordings | Returns call recordings. With the CX Addon active, each record can include transcript, speaker-diarised transcript data, summary, sentiment, CX score and timeline metadata. Without the CX Addon, enriched fields may return null.

get_cdrs | Returns Call Detail Records, the raw log of call activity. Useful for call volume, cost analysis, duration distribution, missed call review and agent activity summaries.

get_live_calls | Returns a real-time snapshot of active calls on the account. Useful for live operations checks and supervisor visibility.

get_voicemails | Returns voicemail messages. Supports the same filtering, limit and pagination pattern as other list tools.

get_recording_audio | Returns a time-limited direct download URL for the MP3 audio of a specific recording. Audio URLs should be used promptly and not cached for extended periods.
