What do I need to port my number to VoIPstudio?
A current phone bill showing the number and account owner. If your provider (e.g., Skype) cannot supply this, you can usually provide a signed Letter of Authorization (LOA) and a screenshot of your account details. Our support team will guide you through every step.
Can I port my number back out of VoIPstudio?
Yes. You can port your number to another provider at any time, following their porting process.
Porting out from the VoIPstudio network incurs administrative fees. The fees are as follows: £15 GBP, €16 EUR, or $20 USD per individual number, £8 GBP, €8 EUR, or $10 USD per number for 10-number ranges, and £3 GBP, €2 EUR, or $3 USD per number for 100-number ranges. We do not charge for porting out Portuguese and German numbers, in accordance with their local regulations.
Can I use my number during the porting period?
Yes. The number must be active and in service during the porting period. You should only cancel service with your previous provider after the port is successfully completed.
How much does porting cost?
Porting a number to VoIPstudio is free of charge. Some providers may charge a release fee.
Can I port multiple numbers at once?
Absolutely! We can handle single and bulk porting.
Can I port my number from any country?
We support number porting in approximately 40 countries. We are not able to port numbers from Asia and Africa; we can only transfer numbers from South Africa.
Porting requirements vary by country. It’s best you contact our porting department directly for a confirmation.
Can I choose my porting date?
While you can request a preferred porting date, the actual timing is determined by your current carrier, so we cannot guarantee that the requested date will be met.
How long will the porting process take?
Typically between 1–4 weeks, depending on your current carrier. Unfortunately, this timeline may be outside our control.
How will things work with my current phone provider?
Once porting is completed, you can cancel service with your current provider. Do not cancel beforehand, as doing so can prevent porting to be completed.
Do my text and phone call histories get ported too?
No. Your call and message history will not be transferred. However, you can easily import and sync your contacts with VoIPstudio.
