Geographic numbers are phone numbers that are associated with specific physical locations, usually represented by area codes. These numbers are essential for businesses that want to establish a local presence in various regions.
In some cases, due to local regulations, we may require you to validate the physical address associated with these geographic numbers. This verification process is important for several reasons:
Verifying your location helps us maintain the integrity and reliability of our services while adhering to local laws and regulations. If you are required to validate your locations or simply want to ensure your information is up-to-date, the following steps will guide you through the process.
VoIPstudio’s customers need to follow these steps to verify their locations:
In the following video, you can see an example of the steps to add a postal address in Australia through the VoIPstudio platform.
Note: A user with admin access must complete this process. If you have any questions or issues with verification, please open a support ticket, and a specialist will assist you.
Access your admin panel and review all the country numbers assigned to you, along with the corresponding cities and area codes. To do this, go to the “Telephone Numbers” option.
Next, click on each number to see the assigned area code:
For example, if you have two numbers, each in a different city, you must provide proof of a business location or residence in those cities linked to your company or your name (if you are an individual).
Go to the “Locations” section and review the locations you have set up. There will always be at least one default location where you must assign your main address details.
In the existing locations, you will see a field with a “house” icon:
If you have only one number or all your numbers have the same area code, simply ensure you correctly complete the address details of your default location.
If you have numbers associated with other area codes, you will need a physical address associated with each area. If you haven’t done so, create those locations using the “Add” button and add the address in the corresponding form.
Once you have created a location for each area code in your contracted numbers, it’s time to verify them.
Procedure:
Review and Approval:
Our team will review the documentation in a few days and mark your locations as verified.
If you wish to add new numbers in a country in the future and they are in already created locations, no further action is needed.
However, you may want to add numbers associated with new area codes. In that case, you must repeat the process by creating a location in that area code and completing the corresponding verification.
