Introducing Single Sign-On (SSO) on VoIPstudio

We are happy to announce that in October 2022, we are rolling out the new Single Sign On feature for VoIPstudio. This new functionality will make logging into VoIPstudio quicker, easier, and more secure than ever.

What is Single Sign-On (SSO)?

Single Sign On, also known as SSO, allows users to access multiple applications by logging in with a single existing account.

Today, most professional and home users have to access different cloud software services (SaaS) multiple times daily. In addition, they often have to do so from different devices and locations.

This continuous movement of users and passwords presents security and productivity issues. It forces users to store and access this information constantly and to enter it on different devices, with the dangers that this entails.

SSO mechanisms allow access to multiple systems using a single authentication. This feature is very convenient for users; logging in only once will enable them to maintain a valid session for all other applications that use SSO.

SSO aims to simplify the user experience on the Internet by facilitating login tasks and improving productivity and online security.

Using the Single Sign-On identification system, it is possible to have multiple logins with a single account. For example, by logging in to Gmail, we will have account-level access to its various web applications and third-party applications that integrate with Google account management.

SSO in VoIPstudio

Apart from the classic user and password mechanism, VoIPstudio allows now to sign up and log in to the platform using your Google or Microsoft credentials.

Sign up using SSO

The first thing you can do, if you are not already a VoIPstudio user, is to sign up for a 30-day free trial using your Google or Microsoft credentials.

To do that, go to the registration page or click on the “Try it for 30 days!” button on any page, and click on the “Continue with Google” or “Continue with Microsoft” buttons. You’ll be redirected to the corresponding Google or Microsoft page.

Select your account and log in with your credentials if you’re not already logged in to automatically create a free account in VoIPstudio.

Login to VoIPstudio with SSO

If you have signed up to VoIPstudio using a Google or Microsoft email, now you can log in using the buttons you’ll see on the login screen. If you have already logged in to your computer with your Google or Microsoft account, you will access VoIPstudio immediately. Or, if you’re not logged in already, log in with your Google or Microsoft account to get instant access to VoIPstudio. No need to store or remember your VoIPstudio password anymore!

If you haven’t signed up on VoIPstudio with a Google or Microsoft account and have one, you can also benefit from this feature. Just change your login email in your account profile to your Google/Microsoft email, and that’s all!

Privacy and security concerns

First, using SSO is not mandatory and is entirely up to you. There is no requirement to use SSO at all.

Even if you use your Google or Microsoft email for VoIPstudio, you can continue logging in with your VoIPstudio password. In that case, no communication between VoIPstudio and Google or Microsoft happens.

More important, even if you use SSO, no data about your calls, or any other information from VoIPstudio, is ever shared or sent to Google or Microsoft. We just use their authentication services to identify you and validate your email credentials.

In no case Google or Microsoft can access or get any information from your VoIPstudio account.
